Nights in Rodanthe

Dave and I just got back from our annual summer vacation to Rodanthe, NC in the Outer Banks. We rented a little beach house near the ocean with my parents and our doggie, Sampson. Our trip consisted of sunbathing on the beach all day, making the 'difficult' decision of which seafood restaurant to eat at each night, taking Sampson for walks on the beach, and seeing which of us could stuff our bellies with the most food. :-) It was so relaxing! So, I remember seeing the preview for the movie, 'Nights in Rodanthe' and being so excited for the simple fact that my family and I have been camping and renting beach houses in Rodanthe, N.C. for the past 20 years. Rodanthe is such a small town on Cape Hatteras Island that very few people have actually heard of it so it was shocking to me that they filmed a movie in this small beach town. We happened to be in one of the local shops and I spotted t-shirts that read "I spent a night in Rodanthe" with a picture of the beach house from the movie. (SEE PICTURE BELOW)

I remember asking Dave what sucker would blow $12.00 on a t-shirt with a picture of the 'Nights in Rodanthe' house on it

So, yeah........I was one of those people who got suckered into buying the t-shirt on the last day I was there. Looks like I stuck my foot in my mouth on that one.

OCEAN CITY FOR THE DAY

Dave and I took a trip to Ocean City for the day to visit with his family. I was able to spend some quality time with my sister-in-laws shopping at the outlets and we all went to the Ember's all-u-can-eat buffet for dinner. There's nothing that brings a family together like an all-u-can-eat buffet. ;-)

KATELYNN'S GRADUATION PARTY

My cousin, Katelynn, graduated today from Turner Ashby High School in Harrisonburg, VA. We were able to see my entire family for the graduation party so it was a lot of fun.

We took our first cruise for our 3-year anniversary trip and it was a lot of fun. The ship left out of Miami and sailed to the Coco Cay, the Bahamas, and Key West.
